Abstract: For more than 60 years Cherkasy State Technological University has been
training specialists in a wide range of modern specialties: natural sciences,
mathematics and statistics, information technology, mechanical, electrical and
energy engineering, robotics, automation and instrumentation, electronics and
telecommunications, chemical, food and transport technology, humanities, social
and behavioral sciences, management and administration, architecture and
construction, services.
The rapid development of international relations, the interest of European
business representatives in cooperation with Ukrainian organizations leads to a high
demand for professions related to foreign languages. The need for translators is
growing every year, so the requirements for their professional competence are
growing. Today, a translator is a specialist who knows the culture of other peoples,
the principles and rules of communication of representatives of different countries;
therefore, the most important thing is the development of communication skills.
Communication is one of the most important components of a modern multinational
and multicultural society. It is crucial in interpersonal relationships, information
exchange and decision-making processes, not to mention the managerial functions
of planning, organization and control. It is necessary to express your thoughts
competently and accurately, to be able to reach mutual understanding with
representatives of different countries and cultures in solving complex professional
problems.
That is why a new educational and professional program "Translation and
International Communication (German and English)" has been introduced at the
Faculty of Humanitarian Technologies this year. The highlight of this program is the development of translation skills together with the development of communicative
competencies.
Taking into account the needs of the labor market and the high demand for
German translators (not only in the central region, but throughout the country), the
Department of Foreign Languages and International Communication offers students
who studied English at school to enter the German group and learn German from
scratch. The study of English as a second foreign language will continue from the
second year. In the process of learning, students master various types of
interpretation and translation of scientific and technical, economic, socio-political
texts, business papers, as well as texts in the field of information technology. The
block of disciplines on development of intercultural and international
communication, carrying out of international negotiations, the organization and
translation of conferences, etc. is very important too. The program is aimed at
forming a broad worldview of future professionals, the development of skills to
successfully navigate in the modern information world. During their studies,
students undergo an annual internship, and can also participate in exchange
programs and the "double diploma" program on the basis of signed agreements of
ChSTU with Ukrainian and foreign universities.
Graduates are free to communicate in foreign languages, work as experts,
consultants, clerks in governmental, commercial and public structures, employees in
the departments of foreign economic relations, consultants and managers in the field
of international communication, translators, and specialists in international
communication. All this will allow young people to be competitive, to gain wide
access to employment in both Ukrainian and international labor markets.

Abstract: Наукова рецензія присвячена перевірці рівня володіння державною мовою особами, які зобов’язані володіти державною мовою та користуватися нею під час виконання службових обов’язків. Обґрунтовано актуальність та своєчасність перевірки мовних навичок українців. Розглянуто динаміку змін у версіях іспитів 1.0 та 2.0. Наведено правові основи діяльності та нововведення Національної комісії зі стандартів державної мови. Проаналізовано екзаменаційні завдання та охарактеризовано типові помилки респондентів. Наведено результати експерименту, в яких наголошується на темах, на які слід звернути особливу увагу під час підготовки осіб, які складають іспит на володіння державною мовою.; The scientific review is devoted to the examination of the state language proficiency level by persons who are obliged to know the state language and use it in the performance of official duties. The relevance and timeliness of testing the language skills of Ukrainians are substantiated. The dynamics of changes in exam versions 1.0 and 2.0 is considered. The legal bases of activity and innovations of the National Commission on State Language Standards are given. Exam tasks are analyzed and typical mistakes of respondents are characterized. французькою, китайською чи арабською, турецькою чи польською мовами.

зрозуміти крос-культурні моменти, адаптуватися до нового мовного оточення.
Підручник може бути використаний як для роботи з викладачем, так і для
індивідуального навчання.; «Welcome to Ukraine» is a textbook designed for foreigners who are beginning to
study Ukrainian or Russian in their country or in Ukraine and who are interested in
the culture and traditions of our country. Grammatical comments and information of
a cultural nature are provided in English or French, Chinese or Arabic, Turkish or
Polish.
The study is based on a communicative approach, the topics are chosen according to
the needs of foreign students, as well as businessmen, tourists and all those who
need to communicate with the people of Ukraine.

The textbook uses original illustrations and provides elements of infographics,
which have not so much aesthetic as information load, which greatly simplifies the
process of perception of the material, helps foreign students to expand vocabulary,
better understand cross-cultural issues, adapt to new language environments.
This textbook-phrasebook is a modern intensive course of Ukrainian (Russian)
language designed for people of all ages who are starting to learn the language from
scratch.
The offered vocabulary gives the chance to begin communication from the first
hours of work with the textbook.
The grammar course presents all parts of speech, which are introduced in portions
in each topic in the study of the necessary communicative units.
Each lesson provides the necessary vocabulary, grammar and material to work
on pronunciation within the communicative task. Each conversational topic
contains an audio application with new vocabulary, and is accompanied by
culturological comments. Songs that contain new vocabulary of this topic or
culturological moments are selected for each lexical topic. The organization of the
material from the first lessons allows expressing one's opinion at the minimum level, to take part in the discussion, and all this in "living" grammatically correct language.

Abstract: 19 декабря 2021 по предложению группы коллег и учеников всемирно известного лингвиста, специалиста по грамматике и аспектологии, автора талантливых научных трудов, справочников и пособий, доктора филологических наук
профессора Михаила Алексеевича Шелякина, состоялся круглый стол его памяти (на платформе Zoom). В видеоконференции приняли участие лингвисты из Эстонии, России, Финляндии, Латвии, Украины. В этот день Михаилу Алексеевичу исполнилось бы 94 года. Однако уже 10 лет, когда его нет с нами. Из подаренных ему судьбой 84 лет свыше сорока он прожил в Эстонии, где в 1975-1993 гг. работал в Тартуском университете. В презентации Ирины Павловны Кюльмоя, когда-то аспирантки, коллеги, позже профессора и заведующей кафедрой русского языка Тартусского университета, ныне эмеритус-профессора, был очерчен научный путь М. А. Шелякина, его главные научные достижения, его научные труды главными из которых стали «Категория вида и роды действия русского глагола» (1983), «русские местоимения» (1986), разделы в «Теории функциональной грамматики» о родах действия в поле лимитативности (1987), о модально-аспектуальных связях (1990) и т.д., «Справочник по русской грамматике» (1993), «Очерки по прагматике русского языка» (2010), а также ряд других монографий и учебных пособий. М. А. Шелякин – автор почти 200 работ. Под его руководством защищены 23 кандидатских и эстонских докторских диссертации.; On December 19, 2021, at the suggestion of a group of colleagues and students of a
prominent linguist, an expert in Russian grammar and aspectology, the author
of widely known research publications, reference books and manuals, Doctor of
Philology Professor Mikhail Alekseevich Shelyakin, a round table was held
in dedication to his memory (on the Zoom platform). Linguists from Estonia,
Russia, Finland, Latvia, and Ukraine took part in the video conference.
On this very day Mikhail Alekseyevich would have turned 94, had not he died
10 years ago. Out of 84 years allotted to his life, he spent forty years in Estonia,
where he chaired the Russian language department at the University of Tartu from
1975 to 1993.
A presentation by Irina Kulmoya, former post-graduate student, colleague, later
professor and head of the Russian language department of the University of Tartu, now Emeritus professor, dwelt on M. A. Shelyakin’s scientific path, his scientific
pursuits and achievements, his scientific works such as "Category of Aspect and
Aktionsart of the Russian Verb" (1983), "Russian Pronouns" (1986), chapters in
"Theory of Functional Grammar" about Aktionsart in the field of limitativeness
(1987), The chapters in "The Theory of Functional Grammar" on modal-aspectual
relations (1990), on Russian reflexive verbs in the general system of voice relations
(1991), "Handbook of Russian Grammar" (1993), "Essays on Pragmatics of the
Russian Language" (2010), as well as a number of other monographs and textbooks.
M. A. Shelyakin is the author of almost 200 works. Twenty-three PhD and Estonian
doctoral theses were defended under his supervision.; 19 грудня 2021 року на пропозицію групи колег та учнів всесвітньо відомого
лінгвіста, спеціаліста з граматики та аспектології, автора талановитих
наукових праць, довідників та посібників, доктора філологічних наук
професора Михайла Олексійовича Шелякіна, відбувся круглий стіл його
пам’яті (на платформі Zoom). У відеоконференції взяли участь лінгвісти
з Естонії, Росії, Фінляндії, Латвії, України. Цього дня Михайлу Олексійовичу
виповнилося б 94 роки. Проте вже 10 років, як його немає з нами.

мови» (2010), а також низка інших монографій та навчальних посібників.
М. А. Шелякін – автор майже 200 праць. Під його керівництвом захищено
