In this study, the specifications of translation of German newspaper texts
and the features of its translation into Ukrainian are analyzed, based on modern
printed and online editions of newspapers and news portals. The translation of
newspaper and journalistic texts is one of the branches of specialized translation.
However, this type of translation is on the intersection of interdisciplinary research
and professional practice, such as economics, translation studies, business
communication, and linguistics. The global context of modern sociopolitical and
economic processes, internationalization of production, globalization, liberalization
of economic relations, new achievements in the field of science and technology
and free movement of production factors increase the demand for high-quality
translation of news-writing style works as well as interpretation support of
economic forums, international summits, business negotiations, mobilities etc.
The purpose of the work is to study and reveal the peculiarities of the
translation of German-language newspaper and journalistic texts, as well as to
provide practical recommendations for the use of the translational techniques of
German journalistic texts in practice. The object of the study lexicographic
research sources in the total amount of 96 printed sheets.
The first section clarifies the essence of the concept of news-writing style,
analyzes the concept of 'informational function' according to the definitions of
various scientists, gives the general characteristics of the style and reveal its role in
informing the consumer and also defines the communicative task of the newspaper.
The second section describes the lexical-semantic difficulties and
grammatical features of translating newspaper and journalistic texts and the
translator's competence when working with such texts. Among the translation
techniques are: transcription, transliteration, tracing, descriptive translation,
approximate translation, direct inclusion and functional analogue.
The third section analyzes the main methods of translation of newspaper
and journalistic texts based on the original German-language editions of periodical
literature. In the general conclusions, the main theoretical propositions and the

This master's qualification work conducts a comprehensive study of the lexical features of German medical terminology and considers the main ways of its translation into Ukrainian.
Nowadays, translation of medical texts remains relevant due to the constant replenishment of the terminological base of the field. It is a result of constant innovations and developments in medical field. One of the challenges is to improve the quality of translation of texts related to medical documentation, in particular medical instructions for medicines manufactured in Germany, the quality of which is among the highest on the world market and is in great demand in Ukraine. To translate medical texts, the translator has to be a specialist who is fluent in the language of source, has the required professional abilities. Also, they have to be familiar with the original culture of the language being translated. In addition, such a translator should be in regular contact with medical materials, because it all will be reflected in the final version of the translation.
The aim of this study is to research the different methods of translating a sample of German medical terminology from professional dictionaries and to translate different German drugs instructions from German into Ukrainian. The research material is lexical and graphic sources, namely: medical bilingual dictionaries and original German texts of instructions for medicines.
The work consists of an introduction, three sections, conclusions to the sections, general conclusions, a list of sources used (135), a list of factual material (6), three appendices.
In the first section of the work the concept of term and terminology according to the definitions of different scientists was analyzed, the history of term formation and terminological system was studied, the problems of translation between national and international elements in medical terminology in different aspects were considered.
In the second section, the lexical, semantic and structural characteristics of medical terms, our sample and medical vocabulary of German-language instructions for drugs, various semantic relationships between medical terms, namely the phenomenon of synonymy and antonymy were identified and studied. The structural features of the formation of eponymous terms in the field of medicine were overviewed.
The third section analyzes the main methods of translation of medical terms based on a sample and texts of medical instructions for drugs. To translate them is a sign of a highly competent translation. The most commonly used methods of translating medical eponymous terms have been studied.
