The issue of improving the quality of teaching Ukrainian as a foreign language is topical. The urgency of the subject is that the use of multimedia resources enriches the traditional lectures making the process of learning a language more interesting and improving the level of education of Ukrainian as a foreign language. The purpose of the article. To characterize the importance of multimedia resources when forming the communicative competence of students in the process of teaching Ukrainian as a foreign language. Research methods. In this research methods of analysis and synthesis, descriptive and empirical methods were used to find out the benefits of using multimedia resources, to form foreign language communication skills during the study of Ukrainian as a foreign language. The use of multimedia resources, especially cartoons, in the practice of teaching Ukrainian language to foreigners has a number of important advantages, namely: increasing the ability of foreign students to get acquainted with Ukrainian realities, traditions, enriching foreign students' vocabulary, improving the phonetic, grammatical, syntactic skills, improving the ability to build monologues and dialogues, creating a supportive atmosphere in the classroom, implementing the principle of educational visibility. Since the acquisition of the phonetic base of the Ukrainian language and, as a result, the correct pronunciation depend on the degree of interlingual phonetic interference, there is a need for the national orientation of teaching Ukrainian pronunciation as a means of its individualization and increasing efficiency, because in each case the interaction of the native and Ukrainian languages has a specific individual character. Purpose. A comparative analysis of the phonemic system of the Ukrainian and Arabic languages in order to predict possible violations of Ukrainian Orthophysics by Arab students. Methods: scientific-methodical analysis and synthesis, retrospective-historical analysis of scientific and scientific-methodical literature, comparative analysis of phonetic and orphoetic phenomena of Ukrainian and Arabic languages. Results. A comparative analysis of the phonemic system of the Ukrainian and Arabic languages suggests that the assimilation of the orthoepy of the foreign pronunciation is based on a certain level of development of pronunciation of the phonemes of the native language. Reliance on the mother tongue gives both positive results and negative ones, so we regard the transfer of certain skills from the mother tongue to an objective reality. Conditionally all skills can be divided into 3 groups: - skills of pronunciation of the native language, which should be transferred to the new speech material and updated; - skills that were previously formed in the element of the native language and when mastered by another pronunciation should be corrected; - skills that are absent in the native language and must be re-formed. Discussion. Аналіз семантичних особливостей умовних конструкцій дав змогу виокремити певні категорії, а саме: умовні речення з позитивною, нейтральною та негативною конотацією. Акцентовано основні моменти, на які перекладач повинен звернути увагу під час відтворення умовних речень.; Problem Statement: In modern linguistics a certain experience has been accumulated in studying expressions with conditional relations. However, there is no consensus nowadays concerning identification of speech fragment where the condition is explicated. Therefore, the necessity exists to extend an understanding of the conditional sentence, consider its structure in the aspect of translation as well as conduct semantic division of conditional sentences of the novels “Pride and Prejudice” by Jane Austen and “Me Before You” by Jojo Moyes. Purpose: To study semantic peculiarities of conditional sentences functioning in the English classical and modern novels, find out their common and different features as well as reveal the difficulties and specific features of English conditional sentences’ translation into Ukrainian. Methods: Analysis, synthesis, induction method, quantitative method, continuous sampling method, descriptive method, contextual analysis and pragmatic analysis method, comparative method. Discussion: In the mentioned novels in terms of grammar five types of conditional sentences were distinguished: conditional sentences of zero, first, second and third type, and mixed type conditional sentences. In total 271 units were considered in the classical novel and 145 units in the modern novel were taken into consideration. Having analysed semantic peculiarities of different types of conditional sentences in the novels, we have distinguished certain categories of conditional sentences with respect to connotation, in particular: conditional sentences with positive, neutral and negative connotation. Results: The division of conditional sentences with reference to connotation enabled us to conclude that the grammatical type of conditional sentences determines, to some extent, its semantic colouring, though it does not define the connotation of the sentence as a whole. Sentences with the structure I wish comprise a separate semantic group. The article proposes several tendencies in modern translation of English conditional sentences. In the proposed article the places memorable are considered from the point of view of translation studies and the theory of cross-cultural communication, namely the features of the literary translation according to the national-cultural asymmetry. Although this problem is not new, and it should be mentioned about the study of national and cultural features of literary translation in connection with their important role in the transfer of a foreign literary work in the language of translation, it would be appropriate to note that, first of all, in the modern linguistic paradigm, language is considered as a cultural code of the nation, and the literary text provides material for reading this code. Therefore, it is necessary to study the national and cultural specificity of language units of the literary text and their translation, as well as the study of ways to reflect the national character, mentality and worldview of an ethnic group in the space of literary works. The purpose of the article is to make the analysis of the Ukrainian translation of the novel of the German writer G. Grass’s "My century" from the point of view of reproduction places the memorable in the process of literary translation, namely such categories as commemorative, symbolic and communication places. Methods. In the process of research various research methods are used, namely comparative and descriptive methods, transformational and linguistic-stylistic analysis, modern research on the problems of memorable discourse, modern theories of chronotope, of the hermeneutics and receptive aesthetics. Results. The analysis of the Ukrainian translation of the G. Grass's novel "My century" from the point of view of the reproduction memory locations has shown that, in general, the proposed translation can be regarded as adaptation to linguacultural specific of the original, which occurs primarily through semantic approximation of the original and the translation of lexical-semantic level. Most memorable places are explained through a linguocultural commentary, as suggested in the footnotes at the end of the page. Discussion. It is worth noting that the Ukrainian translator of the novel "My century" N.
