Витоки паралімпійського руху в Україні.

Abstract

У статті відтворено хронологію становлення вітчизняного паралімпійського руху. Висвітлено дебюти і здобутки українських паралімпійців на спортивних аренах світу. Показано, як громадські ініціативи на місцях передували організаційному становленню системи спорту інвалідів в Україні. Проаналізовано спортивний вектор громадського життя у середовищі інвалідів другої половини 1980-х рр. Наведено документальні свідчення державної підтримки становлення і розвитку паралімпійського руху в Україні у 90-х роках, із проголошенням незалежності України.

The article reproduces the chronology of the formation of the national paralympic movement. Debuts and achievements of Ukrainian paralympians in sports arenas of the world are covered. It is shown how local public initiatives preceded the organizational formation of the system of sports for the disabled in Ukraine. The sports vector of public life among the disabled of the second half of the 1980s is analyzed. Documentary evidences of state support for the formation and development of the paralympic movement in Ukraine in the 90s, with the proclamation of Ukraine's independence, are presented. Launched in the 1980s and 1990s, the system of organizing sports for the disabled has yielded positive results. With state and public support, thanks to high moral and sports qualities, Ukrainian paralympians have established themselves in the international arena, the national team of Ukraine has made its debut at the summer and winter paralympic games and other international competitions.
