Потенціал STEAM-освіти для розвитку знань та наукових здібностей професіонала

Abstract

Стаття обґрунтовує стратегічну важливість STEAM-освіти для повоєнного відновлення та інноваційного розвитку України, наголошуючи на потребі у фахівцях, здатних поєднувати інженерні знання, цифрову грамотність та креативне мислення. Дослідження підтверджує, що STEAM сприяє управлінню знаннями, розвитку наукових здібностей та підвищенню мотивації молоді до критично значущих інженерних спеціальностей. Аналіз стратегій провідних українських університетів показав, що більшість із них використовують ширші ніж STEAM поняття (міждисциплінарність, цифрова трансформація) або фокусуються на STEM-освіті (без компонента мистецтво/креативність), хоча і прагнуть підготувати гідного професіонала. Виявлено ключові бар’єри для поширення STEAM-підходів: відсутність дієвої законодавчої підтримки, недостатнє фінансування, нерівномірна інфраструктура (цифровий розрив) та недостатня підготовка/мотивація викладачів. Проаналізовано можливості розвитку STEAM-освіти та сформульовано рекомендації для їх втілення у життя.

The purpose of the article is to substantiate the theoretical and practical potential of STEAM education for strengthening knowledge management, fostering scientific abilities, and enhancing the professional readiness of specialists in the context of Ukraine’s current socio-economic transformations. The study aims to determine which elements of STEAM most effectively contribute to creative thinking, interdisciplinary integration, and research competencies that are essential for training future professionals. The research is based on an analytical review of recent international studies on STEAM education, a comparative analysis of strategic development programs of leading Ukrainian universities, and a synthesis of global and national trends in implementing STEAM practices. The authors examine official institutional strategies, Випуск 2 (34), 2025 33 open educational resources, and documented international initiatives to assess the readiness and capacity of Ukrainian higher education institutions to adopt STEAM approaches. The results demonstrate that STEAM education is increasingly recognised worldwide as a powerful tool for developing research-oriented, innovation-driven professionals. Analysis of Ukrainian universities’ strategic documents shows uneven incorporation of STEAM elements, despite a clear national need to strengthen scientific potential and technological capacity. The study reveals key barriers to STEAM implementation—such as fragmented curricula, insufficient teacher training, unequal access to digital infrastructure, and limited interdisciplinary integration—alongside significant opportunities, including international partnerships, digitalization, makerspaces, and the growth of dual education models. The findings confirm that STEAM education has the potential to shape flexible, creative, and scientifically competent specialists capable of responding to modern challenges and contributing to Ukraine’s innovative development.
