The article provides a philosophical and political analysis of education as a sphere of political practice under the conditions of the transformation of the public sphere, digitalization, and ideological polarization. The study aims to conceptualize the political nature of education, identify contemporary mechanisms of its politicization, and determine the normative conditions under which education can preserve its emancipatory, democratic, and critical potential. The methodological framework combines hermeneuticphenomenological analysis, critical theory, and the comparative philosophical method, making it possible to relate classical concepts of education, power, publicity, and political subjectivity to the challenges of the digital age. The article reconstructs the major approaches to the political dimension of education developed by Immanuel Kant, John Dewey, Hannah Arendt, Michel Foucault, Jürgen Habermas, Paulo Freire, and Jacques Derrida. It is argued that the political character of education cannot be reduced to direct ideological instrumentalization. Rather, it manifests itself in the formation of subjectivity, the capacity for independent judgment, participation in the public sphere, and responsibility for the common world. Particular attention is paid to contemporary transformations of the educational environment associated with cancel culture, identity politics, platformization, algorithmic governance, generative artificial intelligence, and surveillance capitalism. The analysis demonstrates that digital technologies create new configurations of power/knowledge in which control increasingly assumes indirect and algorithmic forms and may affect academic freedom, pluralism, and the capacity for autonomous judgment. The scientific novelty of the study lies in substantiating a synthetic model of education as political practice that integrates Arendt’s concepts of pluralism, natality, and responsibility for the common world, Foucault’s analysis of power/knowledge, Habermas’s theory of communicative rationality, and Freire’s emancipatory pedagogy. On this basis, the article formulates normative principles of critical pedagogy under conditions of pluralism: dialogicality and mutual subjectivity, critical reflection, epistemic pluralism, and responsibility for the common world. It is argued that preserving the democratic potential of the university requires the protection of academic freedom and open discourse, the development of critical and algorithmic literacy, transparency of digital mediation, and resistance to the monopolization of the educational space by any single ideological position. The practical significance of the study lies in the possibility of applying its conclusions to the development of philosophical, pedagogical, and institutional principles for maintaining the university as a space of free public action, critical judgment, and responsibility.
