Abstract

«Welcome to Ukraine» – підручник-розмовник, призначений для іноземців, які починають вивчення української або російської мови в своїй країні чи в Україні і які цікавляться культурою та традиціями нашої країни. Граматичні коментарі та інформація культурознавчого характеру подано англійською або французькою, китайською чи арабською, турецькою чи польською мовами. В основі вивчення матеріалу – комунікативний підхід, теми обрано відповідно до потреб студентів-іноземців, а також бізнесменів, туристів та усіх, хто має потребу у спілкуванні з жителями України. Книга містить такі розділи: 1. «Cultural moments» (інформація з ілюстраціями про традиції та особливості культури України). 2. «Survival Ukrainian» (курс української мови: лексика, граматика, вправи на закріплення лексики і граматики, діалоги). 3. «Ukrainian songs» (популярні українські пісні і їхній переклад англійською мовою). 4. «Survival Russian», (курс російської мови: лексика, граматика, вправи на закріплення лексики і граматики, діалоги). 5. У підручнику використано оригінальні ілюстрації і подано елементи інфографіки, які мають не стільки естетичне, скільки інформаційне навантаження, що значно спрощує процес сприйняття поданого матеріалу, допомагає іноземним студентам розширити словниковий запас, краще зрозуміти крос-культурні моменти, адаптуватися до нового мовного оточення. Підручник може бути використаний як для роботи з викладачем, так і для індивідуального навчання.

«Welcome to Ukraine» is a textbook designed for foreigners who are beginning to study Ukrainian or Russian in their country or in Ukraine and who are interested in the culture and traditions of our country. Grammatical comments and information of a cultural nature are provided in English or French, Chinese or Arabic, Turkish or Polish. The study is based on a communicative approach, the topics are chosen according to the needs of foreign students, as well as businessmen, tourists and all those who need to communicate with the people of Ukraine. The book contains the following sections: 1. «Cultural moments» (information with illustrations about the traditions and features of Ukrainian culture). 2. «Survival Ukrainian» (Ukrainian language course: vocabulary, grammar, exercises to consolidate vocabulary and grammar, dialogues). 3. «Ukrainian songs» (popular Ukrainian songs and their translation into English). 4. «Survival Russian», (Russian language course: vocabulary, grammar, exercises to consolidate vocabulary and grammar, dialogues). 5. The textbook uses original illustrations and provides elements of infographics, which have not so much aesthetic as information load, which greatly simplifies the process of perception of the material, helps foreign students to expand vocabulary, better understand cross-cultural issues, adapt to new language environments. This textbook-phrasebook is a modern intensive course of Ukrainian (Russian) language designed for people of all ages who are starting to learn the language from scratch. The offered vocabulary gives the chance to begin communication from the first hours of work with the textbook. The grammar course presents all parts of speech, which are introduced in portions in each topic in the study of the necessary communicative units. Each lesson provides the necessary vocabulary, grammar and material to work on pronunciation within the communicative task. Each conversational topic contains an audio application with new vocabulary, and is accompanied by culturological comments. Songs that contain new vocabulary of this topic or culturological moments are selected for each lexical topic. The organization of the material from the first lessons allows expressing one's opinion at the minimum level, to take part in the discussion, and all this in "living" grammatically correct language.
