Становлення та розвиток краєзнавчого руху на Черкащині у другій половині 1920-х років

Abstract

У статті аналізується становлення та розвиток краєзнавчого руху на Черкащині – важливому історико-культурному регіоні України. У контексті суспільно-політичних процесів другої половини 1920-х років простежується розвиток дослідницько-пошукових та просвітницьких форм краєзнавчої роботи, акцентується увага на змісті краєзнавчої діяльності. Відзначається, що важливе значення для розгортання краєзнавчого руху в Україні, зокрема й на Черкащині, мало проведення 28–31 травня 1925 р. Першої Всеукраїнської краєзнавчої конференції. Конференція надала краєзнавчому руху організованого і системного характеру. Виробленню теоретичних та методичних засад краєзнавчої роботи, поширенню досвіду сприяли публікації журналу «Краєзнавство». З’ясовано, що основними осередками розвитку краєзнавства і залучення до нього представників різних верств громадськості були округові та громадські краєзнавчі музеї в Звенигородці, Корсуні, Чигирині та інших населених пунктах краю. Учасниками краєзнавчого руху в більшості були освітяни як представники наймасовішого прошарку місцевої інтелігенції. Щодо змісту краєзнавчої роботи, то помітним є підтримуване владою зміщення дослідницьких і просвітницьких акцентів на вивчення природних ресурсів та продуктивних сил регіону. Історичний напрямок зводився переважно до археологічних та етнографічних розвідок. Констатується, що з кінця 1920-х років почалося згортання краєзнавчого руху. В умовах утвердження тоталітарного режиму зазнали репресій краєзнавці Черкащини, а краєзнавство на довгі роки згасло.

The article analyzes the formation and development of the local history movement in Cherkasy region - an important historical and cultural region of Ukraine. In the context of the social and political processes of the second half of the 1920s, the development of research and educational forms of local history work is traced, attention is focused on the content of local history activity. It is noted that the holding of the First All-Ukrainian Regional History Conference on May 28-31, 1925 was of great importance for the development of the local history movement in Ukraine, in particular in Cherkasy region. The conference gave the local history movement an organized and systematic character. The publications of the "Local History" magazine contributed to the development of theoretical and methodological foundations of local history work and the dissemination of experience. It is found that district and public local history museums in Zvenyhorodka, Korsun, Chyhyryn and other settlements of the region were the main centers of the development of local history and the involvement of representatives of different layers of the public in it. The participants of the local history movement were mostly educators as representatives of the most massive stratum of the local intelligentsia. As for the content of local history work, the government-supported shift of research and educational emphasis to the study of natural resources and productive forces of the region was noticeable. The historical direction was reduced mainly to archaeological and ethnographic explorations. It is noted that the decline of the local history movement began in the late 1920s. In the conditions of the establishment of the totalitarian regime, the local historians of Cherkasy region suffered repression, and local history faded away formany years.
