Abstract

Активне запровадження української мови в суспільно-політичне, економічне й ділове спілкування останніх років потребує знання української мови від усіх, хто пов’язує своє життя з Україною. Це актуалізує питання оптимізації процесу викладання української мови як іноземної, потребує створення сучасних підручників і посібників, що відповідали би новітнім методичним підходам, а також узагальнювали практичний досвід викладача. Підручник «Welcome to Ukraine» призначено для іноземців, які починають знайомство з нашою мовою та країною. Посібник складається з таких розділів: Cultural moments, First steps in Ukrainian, Grammar Reference books та Ukrainian songs. Cultural moments – довідник, що містить культурознавчу інформацію про традиції та менталітет українців. Запропоновано дев’ять тем: «Знайомство», «Їжа», «Час і погода», «Орієнтація в місті», «Громадський транспорт», «Подорож», «Закупи», «Здоров’я. Емоції», «Телефон. Пошта. Інтернет». Кожна тема складається з низки мікротекстів та коментаря щодо чинних в українському суспільстві звичаїв. Розділ створено рідною мовою читача (англійською), що додатково сприяє системному подоланню міжкультурних бар’єрів. Нині окремо видано довідники «Cultural moments» 6-ма мовами – англійською, французькою, арабською, китайською, турецькою та грецькою. Розділ First steps in Ukrainian – курс української мови. Усі уроки курсу мають єдину структуру: Competencies, List of vocabulary, Vocabulary exercises, Communicative patterns with grammar tables, explanations and exercises, Dialogs і Revision. Лексичний матеріал реалізовано в завданнях, діалогах, граматичних поясненнях та обов’язковому словнику, який укладено за тематичним принципом. Grammar Reference books містить ретельно дібраний граматичний матеріал, структурований у таблицях. Створюючи цей розділ, автори виходили з принципів мінімізації, комплексності та універсальності. Для зручного пошуку граматичного матеріалу зміст книги містить детальний список сторінок, на яких наявна інформація про ту чи іншу частину мови / відмінок / час дієслова / мовленнєву конструкцію. Розділ Ukrainian songs складається з 10 українських пісень: народних («Ой не світи, місяченьку!») пісень на слова Т. Шевченка і Д. Павличка та пісень популярних виконавців (гурту «Океан Ельзи», The Hardkiss) – українською та англійською мовами. Вибір пісень підпорядковано загальній комунікативній меті підручника та послідовності подання лексико-граматичного матеріалу.

The active introduction of the Ukrainian language into socio-political, economic andbusiness communication in recent years requires the knowledge of the Ukrainian language from everyone who connects their lives with Ukraine. This actualizes the issue of optimizing the process of teaching Ukrainian as a foreign language, requires the creation of modern textbooks and manuals that would correspond to the latest methodological approaches, as well as summarize the practical experience of the teacher. The textbook "Welcome to Ukraine" is intended for foreigners who are starting to get to know our language and country. The manual consists of the following sections: Cultural moments, First steps in Ukrainian, Grammar Reference books and Ukrainian songs. Cultural moments – a guide containing cultural information about the traditions and mentality of Ukrainians. 9 topics are offered: «Dating», «Food», «Time and weather», «Orientation in the city», «Public transport», «Travel», «Shopping», «Health. Emotions», «Phone. Mail Internet». Each topic consists of a number of micro-texts and a small commentary on the customs in force in Ukrainian society. The chapter was created in the native language of the reader (English), which additionally contributes to the systematic overcoming of intercultural barriers. Currently, the «Cultural moments» guides are published separately in 6 languages – English, French, Arabic, Chinese, Turkish and Greek. First steps in Ukrainian section – Ukrainian language course. All course lessons have a single structure: Competencies, List of vocabulary, Vocabulary exercises, Communicative patterns with grammar tables, explanations and exercises, Dialogs and Revision. Lexical material is implemented in tasks, dialogues, grammatical explanations and a mandatory dictionary, which is compiled according to the thematic principle. Grammar Reference books contain carefully selected grammar material structured in tables. When creating this section, the authors proceeded from the principles of minimization, complexity and universality. For convenient search of grammatical material, the content of the book contains a detailed list of pages on which this or that part of speech / case / verb tense / speech construction occurs. The Ukrainian songs section consists of 10 Ukrainian songs: folk («Oh no worlds, moon!») songs to the words of T. Shevchenko and D. Pavlychko and songs of popular artists (the band «Ocean Elsa», The Hardkiss), in Ukrainian and English. The choice of songs is subordinated to the general communicative purpose of the textbook and the sequence of presentation of lexical and grammatical material.
