Екологічна компетентність студентів технологічного університету: виклик часу та реальний стан

Abstract

В статті розкрито сутність компетентнісного підходу в процесі формування професійних компетенцій майбутніх фахівців в аспекті їх екологічної компетенції. Проведено аналіз понять «компетенція», «компетентність», «екологічна компетентність». Розкрито передумови формування екологічної компетентності студентів різних напрямів технологічного університету, а також складові та основні компоненти даної якості. Проаналізовано стан екологічної компетентності студентів технічного й гуманітарного напрямів підготовки у технологічному університеті та сформульовано основні завдання вищої школи в процесі формування цієї важливої професійної якості у фахівців.

The main feature of the modern national education is to apply competence-based approach when training the students. Therefore, the theoretical and practical professional training that improves skills, expand knowledge and as a result of training, also forms creative abilities of fully qualified young people for various branches of production, aimed at finding a balance between the economic, social and environmental components of our state development, which is the key to its sustainable development. The aim of the study is to determine ecological competence state of the technological university students in modern conditions of environmental risks and hazards and readiness improvement of prospective specialists in different areas for ecologic preserving and ecologically oriented professional activity. The article explores idea of competency-based teaching and learning when developing environmental competence as a part of future specialists’ professional competence. The concepts “competency”, “competence”, and “ecological competence” were analyzed. There were identified the prerequisites that ensure developing environmental competence in students of different majors at the technological university; there were explained the key components of this skill. The experimental findings allowed to analyze environmental competence of students enrolled in engineering and humanities programs. The article identifies higher education goals in developing the engineering students’ professional competence.
